Livelihood training for IDPs conducted

A one day training programme on 'Prospects of Livelihood Revival of Relief Camp Residents via Processing, Value Addition and Marketing of Locally Available Medicinal & Aromatic Plants' was conducted by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Technology Centre, Imphal at Thangjing Shindam Shanglen relief camp, Moirang on Saturday.
The programme held under the sponsorship of National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM), Jaipur was attended by the relief camp nodal officer L Shantikumar Singh, Shri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Manipur district president RK Surchandra, Moirang Legal Aid Clinic co-ordinator RK Sanatombi Devi, relief camp co-Ordinator M Ranjit, and MSME Technology Centre, Imphal deputy director Dr S Yoirentomba Meetei as presidium members.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr S Yoirentomba stated that the training aims to help the internally displaced persons (IDPs) slaying in the relief camp venture into self-employment activities and generate decent income.
He also assured that entrepreneurs need not worry as MSME Technology Centre, Imphal will provide all possible assistance they need.
