Former Minister N Bihari expires

Former Minister Ningthoujam Bihari passed away at his residence at Kongpal Kongkham Leikai at noon today.
He was 76 and is survived by his wife, four sons and two daughters.
Ningthoujam Bihari was born on August 13, 1947 .
He was elected to the 6th Manipur Legislative Assembly in 1995 for the first time as an Independent candidate from Khurai Assembly Constituency.
He held the post of Minister of PHE (Public Health Engineering) .
In 1997, he was appointed as Minister of Rural Development and Pancha-yati Raj.
He was elected for the second time to the 7th Manipur Legislative Assembly in 2000 elections on a Manipur State Congress Party ticket and held the post of Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
He was again elected to the 8th Manipur Legislative Assembly in 2002 elections on a Federal Party of Manipur ticket from Khurai Assembly Constituency.
Speaker Th Satyabrata has condoled the demise of the former Minister and expressed condolences to the bereaved family members.
