Long March reaches Sagolmang

Imphal, December 30 2023:
The long march of Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) reached Sagolmang in Imphal East today.
The 11th day of the march began from Nongada, Imphal East and passed through Lamlai and Pungdongbam before stopping at Sawombung.
A public meeting was held at Sawombung High School ground along with a lunch for the marchers.
MAYOL convenor Asem Prince gave a keynote address at the public meeting while Faculty Member of Department of Political Science of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Dr Homen Thangjam and chairman of Long March for National Regeneration N Chetan spoke on different topics.
From Sawombung, the marchers headed towards Loushangkhong, Sekta, Taretkhul, Lamboikhul, Uyumpok and Tiger Camp before ending the march for the day at Sagolmang.
Another public meeting was held at Sagolmang where Editor of Imphal Times Ringku Khumukcham and former UCM president Sunil Karam shared their opinions on different issues.
The marchers will spend the night at Sagolmang.
The long march began on December 20 from Kangla and will conclude at Canchipur on January 9 next year.
