Sit-ins denounce threat to integrity, narco-terrorism

Sit-in demonstra tions and discussions carried out under the initiative of AMUCO under the banner 'No Separate Administration in Manipur' continued in different parts of the state while similar sit-in protests were organised by local clubs and meira paibi groups to denounce threat to the territorial and emotional integrity of Manipur and acts of narco-terrorism.
Tharoijam Nupi Lam jing Lup and PYPC organised sit-in cum discussion programmes at Tharoijam Maning Leikai community hall; Salam Apunba Meira Paibi, Kiyam Apunba Meira Paibi, Salam Apunba Club and Kiyam Apunba Club at Salam Mamang Leikai com munity hall; Luker Apunba Meira Paibi, Luker Club, Ha-orang Keirel Youth Club and Haorang Keirel Meirapaibi at Haorang Thongkhong; MYDC Maklang Apunba Meira Paibi, Haorang Khu-nou Meira Paibi, Sairem khul Meira Paibi, Atong Khuman Meira Paibi, Tairenpokpi Meirapaibi and MEPWAK at Maklang Keithel; Karong Apunba Meira Paibi, KYUC Karong and KLSUC at Karong community hall; Sangaithel Apunba Meira Paibi and Sangaithel Apunba Club at Sangaithel community hall; and Kachikhul Meira Paibi Apunba Lup and KLSUC Kachikhul at Kachikhul Mayai Leikai community hall.
During the discussion sessions, AMUCO vice president K Helen, COHR chairman Phulindro Kons-am, AMAWOVA advisor Ch Usharani, YOFFS president H Meghachandra, AMAWOVA president Y Kunjarani, AMESCO advisor IB Luwang, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur secretary general Apabi, NRC vice president Dr H Herojit, YOFFS secretary general Kh Ramananda, COHR vice chairman S Leirang-tombi and All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs Organisation (AMPACO) vice president Chesam Lukma, among others addressed the gathering.
In Thoubal district, sit-in protested was organised by Thoubal Athokpam Apunba Meira Paibi Lup at Athokpam Bazar on Monday demanding firm measures to defeat narco-terrorism.
During the sit-in participated by residents of localities under Thoubal Municipal Council Ward No.5,6 and 7, the agitators held placards, and chanted slogans such as 'Stop Narco-Terrorism', 'No separate Administration', etc.
Meanwhile, Victim of Narco Terror organised a sit-in protest against narco-terrorism at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai community hall on Monday.
Speaking on the sidelines, Victim of Narco Terror convenor Bachastimayum Devkumar Sharma clarified that the group is not connected with any organisation or government bodies but rather a body formed by the survivors/victims of narco-terrorism.
He then informed that the group will be extending psychological and moral support to those staying in relief camps.
