Kakching ceases work, pays tribute to martyrs

Kakching, July 03 2023:
All economic activities in Kakching district were suspended on Monday as a mark of respect to the three people killed in attack by armed Kuki miscreants and injuries caused to two village atop Khoijumantabi hills under Kumbi AC in Bishnupur district around midnight on July 1 .
was called by "Langsai Thouna", a conglomerate of organisations in Kakching district.
As part of the protest, a public meeting chaired by Langsai Thouna advisor Naoremcha Rajen Meitei, convenor Rajiv Kshetriy and social worker Naorem Purnima was also held at Kakching Lamkhai.
Social activists Th Brinda and Ningthouja Lancha among others were also present at the meeting and shared their views on the-current unrest situation in the state.
The meeting resolved pursue common agenda and fight unitedly in ending the conflict, check movement of Assam Rifles, demand resignation of CM from his post and face the consequences including imposition of PR, and to guard Meitei villages in peripheral areas on rotation basis.
The meeting concluded with chanting of slogans for upholding the territorial and emotional integrity of Manipur.
