Worship ceremony offers prayers for restoration of peace

Uttra Shanglen amaibas and amaibis (local shamans) offered prayers at Lainingthou Laiphamlen, Oinam Leikai to contain the ongoing violence and bring peace to the strife-torn State today.
The worship ceremony was jointly organised by Uttra Shanglen Sana Konung, Umanglai Kanba Apunba Lup Manipur and Lainingthou Nongshaba Thougal Lup Thanga.
It may be noted that the ceremony was attended by Uttra Shanglen Sana Konung member Pibarel; International Salai Punsipham Thanga Branch member Nilachandra; UKAL Advisor Bidhu Khuman; UKAL general secretary Mutum Maniton Meitei; Lainingthou Nongshaba Thougal Lup Thanga secretary Premkumar and residents of Thanga Assembly Constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Mutum Maniton stated that the worship ceremony was organised to offer sincere prayers to the Almighty to bring an end to the ongoing conflict that has gripped Manipur.
He also strongly condemned the acts of desecrating and torching the sacred worship sites and seats of 'Umang Lais' by "narco terrorists" during the course of this conflict.
He added that these sacred sites, such as those of Koubru and Thangjing will remain despite these attacks.
Mutum Maniton also shared 25 such seats of Umang Lais had been dismantled or torched and seven sacred worship sites of Meitei Hindus had been destroyed.
Adding that a case has been filed in this connection, he expressed hope that the secular Indian Government will not remain silent on the issue and take appropriate action against the perpetrators.
