Aid, cash extended to relief camps

Various local bodies continued to extend relief materials, cash and other essential items to relief camps and village volunteers guarding Meitei villages from the attacks of Kuki militants.
Namthanlong Thangmeiband kabui Women's organisation on Sunday donated three bags of rice, one bag each of onion, potato, a box of edible oil and two boxes of drinking water bottles to Thangmeiband relief camp.
Guru Kulla Cultural Academy also extended relief materials to relief camps set up at Keibi, Taret Khul and Naorem Birahari Khundrakpam.
Moirangkampu Sajeb Women Welfare Association Meira Paibi donated a sum of Rs 10,000 to one Hijam Shangkar of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai, who sustained gunshot injuries in Khamenlok when armed Kuki militants attacked Meitei villages.
One N Luhini, a member of the Association also donated a sum of Rs 1000 to Shangkar.
The Body and Organ Donors' Association, Manipur extended relief materials and cash to the village volunteers guarding Meitei villages at Koutruk, Senjam Chirang and Khadangband.
Womenfolk of Charangpat Luxmi Bazar also extended relief materials to volunteers guarding Meitei villages at Phubala, Tronglaobi and Kakching Khunou.
Thangmeiband Kabui Women's Organisation on Sunday distributed edibles and other food items to the relief camp opened by Thangmeiband United Club in Thangmeiband.
Meanwhile, Leijangpokpi Women's Voluntary Association on Sunday donated food items to the family of Khoirom Manisana son of late Khomei of Napet, Sugnu, Kakching district whose house was burned down by Kuki militants on May 28 .
