Imphal, August 14 2023:
The All Manipur United Club's Orga-nisation (AMUCO) president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang has categorically stated that the widespread observance of Manipur Independence Day is another reminder that the territorial and adminis-trative integrity of Manipur is non-negotiable and cannot be compromised.
AMUCO, like many other groups and organisations, observed the 77th Independence Day of Mani-pur at Kwakeithel and hoisted the flag of independent Manipur embossed with Ibudhou Pakhangba's Paphal in the middle.
At the function, Nando Luwang continued that a deep emotion ran through him when he hoisted the flag of independent Mani-pur.

Saying that the feeling would be spellbound if Manipur gets its independence back, Nando Luwang maintained that the forefathers of Manipur fought valiantly against their adversaries on different occa- sions because the battles were fought by independent soldiers and people of an independent entity after taking resolutions which entire- ly were in the interest of Manipur.
However Manipuris now are unable to bring forth their expertise and valour fully while fighting to protect themselves, their land and resources as the erstwhile kingdom is no longer independent, the AMUCO president said .
Certain forces are even restricting the Meitei people to face the group of people who currently are threatening the territorial and administrative integrity of Manipur, he claimed and continued that it is the Indian Government who put so much restriction on Meitei people in defending their land and resources.
Meanwhile, Nando Luwang said that the Independence Day of Manipur and Patriots' Day are becoming more popular and are being observed widely across the State and beyond since the last few years.
Giving due importance to these historically significant events of Manipur is the manifestation of the sense of patriotism being felt by the people, he said.
