Imphal, August 14 2023:
Responding sharply to BJP Manipur Pradesh A Sharda's allegation against Congress party, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesperson advocate Rabi Khan said that people might not want to listen to Sharda's charges against Congress and it would be better for BJP to find out ways to resolve the violence rather than continuing to hurl allegation against Congress.
A Sharda, during a press conference on Saturday, held Congress party responsible for the ongoing violence in Manipur.
Responding to Sharda's allegation against the party, MPCC spokesperson advocate Rabi Khan said that entire people of Manipur are suffering due to the violence since May 3 but Sharda is blaming Congress party for the violence rather than finding ways to end it.
He said that it was inappropriate and non-commensurate with the time that Sharda brings out an incident occurred 30 years back and link it with the present violence.
It is inappropriate to link the present violence with Meetei and Meetei-Pangal clash that occurred 30 years back, he said, adding that the two communities are living together with love and understanding and collectively shouldering their responsibility for safeguarding the land.
Congress party expected the Prime Minister, chief minister and Governor to find out solutions to end the violence by finding out root cause but BJP continues with its blame game against Congress, Rabi Khan said and questioned the agenda behind BJP's continuous allegation against Congress party.
According to Rabi Khan, Congress and other Opposition members were compelled to walk out from the Parliament after Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not mention about Manipur violence even after waiting for one hour and 40 minutes.
He then questioned as to why 40 ruling MLAs return back to the state in the middle of the night after rushing to the national capital hurriedly.
Congress party wants to douse the fire in Manipur with collective efforts but BJP continues with its political agenda rather than resolving the present crisis, he added.
