Sit-ins staged, human chain formed

A sit-in protest was organised by Rural Youth Development Organisa-tion (RYDO) with local meira paibi activists at Charangpat Maning Leikai, Thoubal dis-trict on Monday demanding the state and central gov-ernments to restore peace at the earliest, implement NRC, withdraw So0 agreement with Kuki militants, contain violence perpetrated by Kuki militants and to uphold integ-rity of Manipur.
Similar protest was also or-ganised by women vendors of Wangling Lamding Bazar and Wangling New Market along with meira paibi activ-ists on Monday by blocking half the NH 102 at Wangjing Lamding Bazar denouncing government's alleged failure to contain the violence and demanding removal of Assam Rifles from Manipur.
Speaking to the media, one Santi condemned the attack on Meetei community by Kuki militants since May 3 and de-manded that the state and central governments control them at the earliest.
The protestors held placards and raised slogans demand-ing peace, implementation of NRC, withdrawal of So0 agreement with Kuki mili-tants, etc.
On the other-hand, human chain was formed by women vendors at Heirok Keithel on Monday in support of Mani-pur's integrity, withdrawal of So0 agreement and restore peace while a sit-in protest cum human chain formation was organised on Monday at Pallel, Kakching district to press the government for re-storing peace and normalcy and to empathise with the people who have lost their lives, suffered injuries, had their property looted & de-stroyed and displaced from their homes due to the ethnic violence.
The protest was held to mark the launch of a three-day protest and cease work agitation called by United Committee Pallel and Pallel Women Development Asso-ciation.
Sit-in protest was staged at Lamlong Keithel, Chairel, Kakching district on Mon-day to demand withdrawal of So0 agreement, removal of AR from state and imple-ment NRC.
