Imphal, June 12 2023:
United Association of Recognised School of Manipur (UARSOM) president Laishram Joy has assured of facilitating one year free education to all students affected by the ethnic violence in any of the private schools in the state.
Speaking on the sidelines of distributing stationery items to riot-hit people taking shelter at 15 relief camps on Monday, he informed that UARSOM is an organisation having representa-tion of various districts as well as CBSE and Catholic associations of both the hills and the valley.
The president also advised the riot-hit students to contact the association if he/she faces any hindrance.
He stated for the first phase the association is providing statio-nery items to 15 relief camps set up in valley areas and the same will be continued in the hill areas.
Expressing concern that the displaced students might take the wrong path as they are de-prived of education, Joy said that the association has urged the government not to extend the summer vacation beyond till June 15 .
He also regretted that the internet ban has caused serious inconveniences to students who need to fill up forms online and to participate in various corn-petitions.
URASOM distributed statio-nery items to relief camps set up at Naorem Birahari College, Khuman Lampak Youth hos-tel, Bishnupur district old mini secretariat, Moirang LCM High School, Moirang Santhong Awang Leikai, Kumbi Terakha Upper Primary School, Kumbi Awang High School and Kumbi Central High School among others.
