Ukhrul ready to roll out red carpet for CM

Ukhrul is all set to welcome and host Chief Minister N Biren Singh, his Council of Ministers, MLAs and Members of Parliament for a Cabinet meeting tomorrow, said Deputy Commissioner Zuringla Kengoo.
During the visit to Ukhrul, Chief Minister N Biren will inaugurate 21 projects worth Rs 23.93 crore, and lay foundation stones for 24 projects worth Rs 41.61 crore.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh is likely to reach Ukhrul by a helicopter.
All the necessary preparations and arrangements have been completed to host the Cabinet meeting, said Deputy Commissioner Zuringla Kengoo.
Speaking to this correspondent, Zuringla said the Cabinet meeting will be held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office after which the Chief Minister will address a public address at the Mini Secretariat campus.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh will inaugurate 21 projects that were constructed at the cost of Rs 23.93 crore, and lay the foundation stone for 24 projects worth Rs 41.61 crore for the development of Ukhrul, she said.
The 21 projects to be inaugurated include Working Women Hostel at Ukhrul district headquarters; Girls Hotel at Paoyi; Primary Health Sub-Centre buildings at Tusom CV, Ngainga, Pusing and Ragui; Sirarakhong Primary School, Ngachonmi Primary School at Ukhrul; Ringui Ayotang Primary School; Ringui Ramhon Primary School; Paorei Primary School; Shirui guest house; Geriatric Ward at Ukhrul District Hospital; Barrack type quarter at PHC Lambui; Open Gym at Ukhrul; Augmented Water Supply schemes at Yaolen, Paoyi Azingtang, Chingjaroi CV, Leiyaram, Tora Khunou and Langreiphung.
The projects for which foundation stones are to be laid include quarters for several police stations, and a building for Government Children Home Ukhrul, Cultural Centre cum Multipurpose Building Ukhrul and several infrastructure and road construction projects.
Talking about the preparations taken up to host the Cabinet meeting tomorrow, the DC said seating arrangement for the visiting Ministers and MLAs has been completed.
Construction of a stage and black topping of the Mini Secretariat compound will be completed today.
Nine billboards have been erected and 5 welcome gates have been constructed in Ukhrul town, she said.
Superintendent of Police Ukhrul Ningshem Vashum said security has been beefed up in the district.
Additional security personnel led by IG and DIG have arrived at Ukhrul.
One company of BSF, 15 Special Commandos and State forces-Manipur Rifles and IRB personnel have been deployed in all strategic points and the forces have "sanitised" the whole of Ukhrul district, the SP said.
The SP added that sufficient security forces have also been deployed on Imphal-Ukhrul road to prevent any unwanted incidents.
SDO LM Block and AC to DC Rohini Kumar said the trial landing of the helicopter for CM's visit to Ukhrul was completed successfully without any issue.
