Hiyanglam MLA, Gujarat team distribute aid

Hiyanglam MLA Dr Yumnam Radheshyam on Thursday hosted a luncheon for inmates of relief camp of Langmeidong at his residence and distributed essential items for the inmates along with providing Labour Cards under Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to 77 persons staying in two relief camps of Langmeidong (54) and Elangkhanpokpi Mayai Leikai Mandop (23) .
The MLA also distributed aid and arranged meals at relief camps of Elangkhanpokpi Mayai Leikai Mandop, Lamjao Makha Leikai Upper Primary School and Hiyanglam Girls High School on the same day.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Radheshyam confided that the state government along with four MLAs of Kakching district, district administration and security officials has overseen the conflict affected areas where displaced persons can return back to their homes by providing adequate security.
He also added that government has started deploying additional security forces in affected areas as well as providing compensation for building new houses to people whose homes were totally burned down in the ongoing crisis.
Meanwhile, a team from Gujarat formed by various individuals with the message of 'Manipur from Noakhali: Shall We Go, Bapu' have started distributing relief materials at relief camps.
The team comprising Gauranga Rai and Ilias Dabbawala, who arrived in the state on Friday, will distribute essential items with the support of Tomthin Green Zone, LNSP and Ekta Parishad Manipur Unit till November 27 in various valley areas.
On Thursday, the team provided essential items at Ideal Girls ' College, Akampat relief camp.
On Friday, the team plans to distribute aid at relief camps of Phayeng Higher Secondary School; Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboi Khongnangkhong; Sardar Patel School, Khurkhul and Tendongyang Mandop.
