Press association celebrates foundation day

All Manipur Press Association (AMPA) celebrated its 52nd foundation day at Manipur Press Club, here on Thursday during which the gathering paid floral tributes to those who laid down their lives for Manipur during the current crisis.
Speaking as the chief guest event.
All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMA) president Raghabendra N Dutta Baruah appealed to the state government to support the printing industry in the state so that it can compete with other printing industries.
The Government's support will enable the local printers to become exporters and further develop the economy of the state, he added.
Raghabendra further said that AIFMA has been contributing its mite for development of the printing industry in the country by organising exhibitions and seminars and creating awareness on the latest technology to its members, and is planning similar events in the state as and when the restive situation ends.
While expressing that the printing industry business in the north east seems to be dependent on the government, the president emphasised continuous support of the government to enable the printers become exporters and help improve economy of the state.
Presided over by AIFMP vice president (East) and AMPA president Senjam Surjit, the celebration was also attended by BSEM secretary Dr S Mangijao, AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam and AMPA advisor L Bhumeshwor as guests of honour.
