RPF claims Saibol attack on AR

The proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) claimed to have inflicted some casualties on Assam Rifles when a special team of its armed wing - People's Liberation Army (PLA) carried out attack on the paramilitary troopers on Thursday.
According to an RPF statement issued by assistant publicity secretary Bangkim, the attack was carried out at about 8am at a place between Narum and Saibol villages in Tengnoupal district located around 20km from Moreh.
Claiming that some AR soldiers were injured in the attack, the RPF statement said the special team of PLA was on a mission to inspect Moreh which witnessed widespread violence due to India's divisive policy though all the communities inhabiting in the border town lived in peace and harmony before May 3, 2023 .
It also said that the special PLA team encountered AR troopers on the way and accordingly engaged in fire-fight.
Moreh town is now completely surrounded by Indian forces and the Key Location Point (KLP) being developed at the border town with modern technologies have cemented Indian occupation, the RPF statement said adding that Indian forces are siding with a particular community inhabiting in the town to divide two communities instead of maintaining peace and harmony.
While asserting that creating division among different communities has been a tool utilised by India to strengthen its occupation, the RPF said it is the responsibility of the outfit and its armed wing PLA to fight against India's divisive tactics and restore peace and harmony among different communities of Manipur.
The attack on patrol party of 20 Assam Rifles was carried out with use of sophisticated weapons.
According to a police report, the AR team on board a Casspir was carrying out a routine area domination patrolling when they came under heavy fire including IED explosion from upon reaching an area between Narum and Saibol villages.
The IED seemed to have planted beforehand.
The AR personnel also returned fire and the gunfight lasted for over thirty minutes.
No injuries were reported on both sides.
On receiving news of the attack, a team of Tengnoupal district police arid additional forces of AR rushed to the location and searched the surrounding areas.
However, no arrests were reported.
