Bodies boycott Babloo, Brinda for lifetime

Claiming that former police officer Thounaojam Brinda and human rights activist Babloo Loitongbam tried to mislead the people and put the Meitei society in poor light, Youth for Change, Heingang has declared boycott of both for lifetime.
Addressing media persons at Luwangshangbam Makha Leikai community hall on Friday, Youth for Change executive member Waikhom Athoingamba said that instead of division, we should all come together and take up non-violent agitations and urge the government and all concerned to achieve our goal.
He further informed that a function will be organised on October 8 at Ibudhou Koubru Khubam at Awang Potshangbam where floral tributes will be offered to those who laid down their lives to save Manipur from attacks by armed Kuki narco-terrorists.
He appealed all to take part in the tribute event by wearing traditional Meitei attires.
Chipping in Youth for Change executive member Mangshatabam Jenista stated that the youths of Heingang assembly constituency has decided to boycott Brinda and Babloo for lifetime as their statements were not only baseless but are malicious.
Jenista also appealed to all organisations and bodies not to organise any entertainment programme or activity in Heingang AC to avoid any unwanted incident.

Meanwhile, Village Volunteers' Service, Peace, Development Coordinating Committee, Khundrakpam and Challenges Youth of Khundrakpam AC convened a meeting on Friday and unanimously resolved to endorse the decision of Meitei Leepun to boycott Th Brinda and Babloo Loitongbam as well boycott both for lifetime.
The meeting declared not to tolerate any impediment posed to the agitation launched by the Meitei community and also urged all concerned to give up the concept of maligning the community.
On the other hand, women village volunteers, who are safeguarding Meitei villages strongly condemned the statement made by former police officer Brinda which threatens integrity of Manipur, and declared banned on her from speaking in any public platform.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Friday, village volunteer Puinabati Konsam said that the volunteers of Arambai Tenggol and Meitei Leepun shouldered the responsibility to safeguard the Meitei villages from attacks by armed Chin Kuki narco-terrorists and the meira paibis maintaining vigil to protect their sons from being assaulted and killed.
It is very unfortunate that Brinda, at this point of time, is making baseless statements which could mislead the people and portray a wrong image of Meitei society, she said.
Such irrational comments pose serious threat to integrity of Manipur and is akin to open invitation for imposition of President's Rule in the state, which is acceptable to the mothers of Manipur.
If Brinda acts against the wishes and demands of people, the mothers of Manipur will ultimately teach her a befitting lesson, Puinabati cautioned.
