MLAs assess progress of housing project

Imphal, July 15 2023:
A team of legislators visited the site for construction of pre-fabricated houses to accommodate the displaced persons near Kwakta Sericulture Office in Bishnupur district and reviewed the work progress on Saturday.
The MLA team include RK Imo of Sagolband AC, Khuraijam Loken of Wangoi, Kongkham Robindro of Mayang Imphal and Thongam Shanti of Moirang.
Officials of department concerned and district administration, who accompanied the MLA inspection team were advised to complete the construction at the soonest possible.
Interacting with the media, MLA RK Imo said that they are visiting the site as per the instruction of the chief minister.
While informing that repairing of the sericulture office complex will be completed by July 18 and at least 80 families will be shifted at the same within a week, the MLA said that construction of the pre-fab structures being targeted for completion within this month will accommodate around 220 families, which would be around 1500 people including those in the sericulture office.
On the other hand, Awaba Tarabasingi Tengbang Lup Sagolband under the aegis of MLA RK Imo donated relief materials to the relief camp located at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong
on Saturday.
