Have faith in Govt, says Moirang AC MLA

Moirang AC MLA Th Shanti has stated that the State Government is making all possible efforts to end the crisis and aid the affected people.
He made the statement during a relief item distribution programme conducted yesterday to aid displaced people who are taking shelter in the houses of their relatives and friends in Tronglaobi area.
Mention may be made that people who were displaced from Churachandpur, Torbung, Napat, Tangjeng and other Meitei neighbourhoods adjacent to Churachandpur district are taking refuge at various camps opened in Moirang and the houses of their relatives in the nearby localities.

15 kg of rice, 1 litre of edible oil, 1 packet of salt, 2 kg of dal were distributed to around 230 people whose houses were burnt down during the communal violence.
The aid, which is the first phase of the relief work, was extended by the MLA in consultation with the State Government.
Th Shanti also expressed that blankets, pillows, mattress and other items will be reached out in the next phase of relief work.
The Government is not silent and has been putting all possible effort to alleviate the hardships of the people, he asserted while urging all not to take the State Government wrong and are inactive.
It has been found that some politically motivated people are trying to malign the image of the Government, he said while urging all to join hands in Government's initiative to help all people affected by the communal crisis.
It is everyone's responsibility to uphold the integrity of the State, he said while also highlighting measures taken up by the State Government and the Central Government in the face of the crisis.
He further said that efforts are being made to ensure displaced people makeshift residential arrangements in the form of pre-fabricated houses within a week or so.
He also mentioned the collective effort of 31 MLAs to remove Assam Rifles from the State besides measures to screen illegal immigrants in the State.
Adding that security measures are being taken up to ensure farmers conduct agricultural activities safely, he urged all to support the State Government.
The MLA also encouraged local media personnel who are working relentlessly in the area with edible items and cash incentives of Rs 5000 each.
