Lup bats for state forces at Moreh town

While pointing out Meetei people forced to leave their ancestral homes in Moreh are yearning for resettlement and demanding deployment of additional personnel of state forces, Salai Kanba Lup State Central Committee denounced alleged attempt to pull out the police from the border town.
Speaking to media persons at Salai Kanba Lup, Terakhongshangbi Khudekpi office, Committee vice president Leichonbam Gopal informed that after the Moreh Meeteis abandoned their homes due to the ethnic violence the only trace of Meetei in the town are some personnel of the state forces.
While claiming that the state forces are facing dire situation as they presently being surrounded by Kuki militants, the vice president remarked that if there is no state force left in the area, then there will be no hope of resettlement.
As such, additional state forces should be dispatch to Moreh to pave the way for return of the displaced Meeteis to their ancestral home, he said and also urged the government to take up necessary measures for resettlement of Meeteis in Churachandpur.
