Subroto Cup: NHS, TGES, CTHSS storm into final

Imphal, July 15 2023: Nirmalarani High School (NHS), Wangoi, (U-14 boys) and CT Higher Secondary School (CTHSS), Mayang Imphal (U-17 boys), both of Imphal West along with U-14 & U-17 teams of TG English School (TGES), Bishnupur stormed into the final of 62nd State Level Sub-roto Cup International Football Tournament.

In Saturday's matches played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, the first U-14 semi-final between NHS and Unique Model School (UMA), Heingang, Imphal East, had the former scripting 4-3 win in additional period after normal time ended at 2-2 .

Alibas (19th minute) and M Yaikhomba (39th) scored for NHS, while Awungshi (1st) and L Suraj's (50+3) drew parity for UMA.

In the second (U-14) semi-fi-nal, TGES defeated Public English School (PES), Leisangthem, Thoubal 4-1 with Donald (12th & 43rdl, Bikash (23rd) and Yohenba (38th) getting the goals for TGES as PES reduced the loss margin through Bishal (45 th) .

In the first (U-17) last-four match, TGES emerged victorious against Heirok Higher Secondary School (HHSS), Thoubal 5-2 with Th Sanathoi (13th & 60+6) scoring for TGES and L Niki (llth) and L Bikramjit (55th) of HHSS stretching the game beyond normal time.

In the additional period, a goal each by Tom (67th), Naresh (69th) and Sanathoi (70th) secured the win for TGES.

In the second (U-17) match, CTHSS breezed past Khangsil-lung Higher Secondary School (KHSS), Khoupum, Noney 3-0 riding on goals by W Tejkumar (23rd) and Monex in the 45th minute.

In the final matches on Sunday, NHS will lock horns against TGES (U-14) while CTHSS will take on TGES (U-17) .
