COCOMI alleges Army influence in EGI's Manipur report

The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) shed light on what they believe to be a series of unsettling revelations surrounding the Editors' Guild of India (EGI) and their controversial Fact Finding Report concerning the Manipur conflict alleging influence of Indian Army over EGI.
The allegations levelled by COCOMI suggest a deeper and more complex web of conspiracies that have fuelled the longstanding conflict in Manipur.
According to COCOMI's press release issued on Tuesday, these allegations stem from a letter submitted by EGI's counsel to the Supreme Court of India, as well as previous statements, letters, and an official tweet from EGI's social media account.
The release stated that the Indian Army extended an invitation to EGI to form a Fact Finding Team to investigate the situation and report on the Manipur Violence.
Subsequently, EGI issued an appeal for crowdfunding to cover their expenses for traveling from Delhi to Manipur.
The press release pointed out that EGI initially thanked ITLF Media Cell for-their donations in a tweet but later deleted the acknowledgment, raising questions about the nature of their financial support.
In light of these events, COCOMI contended that the Indian Army exerted influence over EGI, leading to the publication of a biased and unsubstantiated Fact Finding Report on Manipur Violence.
This report has sparked widespread scepticism, with many now referring to it as a "Fake Finding Report of Editor's Guilt (Not Guild) of India" .
COCOMI suggested that the report hints at a troubling nexus between the Indian Army and what they described as the "cheapest editor's body in the world," pressuring them to operate beyond their ethical boundaries.
The release also implied that the narco-terror fund sponsored EGI's trip to Imphal through the narco-terrorist agencies known as ITLF Media Cell and insisted that such collusion among the Indian Army, Editors' Guild, and Chin-Kuki narco-terrorist groups like ITLF is undeniable and demands a strong response.
They argued that all three parties should be equally accountable for spreading false information and exhibiting biased attitudes toward the Meetei people, who are indigenous to the region.
COCOMI further contended that the violence in Manipur has been orchestrated by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorist groups in collusion with various security agencies and funded by narco-terror funds through entities like ITLF.
They suggest that these funds have reached various agencies and individuals, including Editors' Guild of India.
The allegation that EGI's visit to Manipur was sponsored by ITLF Media Cell on the Indian Army's request or invitation suggests the possible involvement of corrupt Indian Army officials, COCOMI maintained and opined that EGI may have inadvertently become a propaganda tool for narco-terrorist activities, funded by the New Golden Triangle in Manipur.
The press release concluded with a stern warning that if the Government of India fails to take immediate action against all the agencies and individuals involved in these alleged crimes, COCOMI will not hesitate to use its full power, as endorsed by the people of Manipur, to seek justice promptly.
COCOMI also appealed to the people of Manipur to refrain from engaging in road donations, which have caused inconvenience and traffic disruptions amid the ongoing violence.
Additionally, they appealed to all media users to avoid spreading baseless and provocative propaganda.
