CM distributes loans, urges against bandh

Chief Minister N Biren distributed loans sanctioned to beneficiaries under the Manipur Credit Guarantee Scheme (MCGS) for Micro and Small Enterprises under the planning department at the Durbar Hall of the Chief Minister s Secretariat on Thursday.
Additionally, he inaugurated a Fertiliser Management System under the department of agriculture.
Acknowledging the challenging circumstances besetting the state, Biren emphasised the urgency of revitalising the state's economy and called for concerted efforts to compensate for lost time due to recent unfortunate incidents and discouraged the imposition of bandhs, blockades, and general strikes, particularly with the HSLC Examination set to commence.
There is rule of law which all must uphold, he said while making an earnest appeal to all to act according to the law of the land.
Highlighting the government's commitment to support entrepreneurs, the CM praised the sincerity, transparency, and quality maintained by the entrepreneurs of the state.
The initial sanction for the MCGS stands at approximately Rs 113 crore for 1650 beneficiaries, with plans to extend around Rs 700 crore to 14,000 MSE units.
He stressed that now is the opportune moment for economic revival.
Furthermore, the CM outlined various initiatives in sectors like horticulture, agriculture, and schemes such as One Family One Livelihood and Manipur Start Up.
He appealed to bankers for their cooperation in the state's economic recovery efforts.
Following the launch of the Fertiliser Management System App, Biren highlighted its role in regulating fertiliser distribution and ensuring transparency.
He lauded the efforts of the agriculture minister, department officials, and stakeholders involved indeveloping the app, emphasising its potential to curb corruption and provide relief to farmers.
The event was also attended by agriculture minister Thongam Biswajit, works minister Govindas Konthoujam, CAF&PD minister L Susindro, social welfare minister H Dingo, MLAs, chief secretary Dr Vineet Joshi, department officials, beneficiaries, bankers, and other dignitaries.
