Aid extension continues

Thoubal, June 25 2023: Financial aid and relief materials continue to be donated by generous persons and organisations to meet the needs of those who have lost all their properties and their homes in the ongoing violence.

Today, Wangjing Women and Girls Society (WWAGS) donated daily essential commodities including clothing items to the relief camp set up by Salai Kanba Lup Terakhongsangbi Khudekpi in Moirang Assembly Constituency.

Speaking in this connection, Sapam Renubala, president WWAGS urged the relevant authority to restore normalcy and peaceful co-existence in the lives of the victims of violence.

It may be noted that L Premananda Meitei, secretary, WWAGS as well as various staff were present at the aid extension trip.

Meanwhile, Peace and Relief Committee, Khekman has handed over a monetary sum of Rs 200 each to 73 displaced persons who have fled from their homes due to the recent violence and are seeking refuge in their relatives' houses in Thoubal Khekman.

Notably, this marks the fifth aid extension initiative conducted by the Peace and Relief Committee, Khekman.

Separately, meira paibis of Icham Khunou have donated essential items to the displaced families seeking shelter at Rice Research Center, Khangabok under Thoubal district.

Separately, Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN) Manipur Boston, USA has extended monetary aid to the four relief camps established by the Committee For Peace and Social Harmony Kakching.

According to statement issued by the Committee, KEN has donated a sum of Rs 25,000 to the relief centre at Indoor Stadium Kakching; Rs 5,000 to Yumbi Macha High School relief camp; Rs 10,000 to Kakching Wairi Kongoi Community Hall relief camp and Rs 10,000 to Kha Manipur College S/c Girls Hostel relief camp.

Lastly, District Olympic Association (DOA) Thoubal today extended aid in the form of three water tanks and two bags of rice at the relief camp at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex.

Speaking to media persons, DOA secretary M Madhusudon said the relief materials were handed over to the camp to help the 443 inmates who were mostly displaced from Moreh.

He also urged all concerned to work towards restoring peace and normalcy in the State.
