A 48-hour statewide bandh which will commence from midnight of January 7, 2011 has been called to press the state government to issue appointment orders to the candidates who cleared DPC for recruitment to the state security force under die-in-hardness scheme.
The bandh is being called by the Joint Action Committee of Die-in-Hardness Scheme.
Addressing a press conference at Manipur Press Club, Major Khul, its joint secretary Naorem Surju said that if government fails to give a positive response they will resort to intensified forms of protest.
He said that recruitment test for appointment of 77 candidates in the state security force under the die-in-hardness scheme of the government was conducted two years back on October 25, 2008 with CO, 2nd IRB Radhashyam as chairman of the recruitment committee.
The recruitment committee recommended a list of 55 candidates to the state home department for appointment.
But, no appointment order has been issued till date.
The bandh will commence from January 7 midnight and end on midnight of January 9.Any untoward incidents arising out of the bandh will be the sole responsibly of the government, the JAC's joint secretary said.
