The Kuki National Organisation (KNO) also celebrated Christmas at its Hermione designated camp at Chelip village in Chandel district.
The celebration at the camp slated on December 24 was lasted till today.
Villagers of Chelip, Tengnoupal, Chaknol, Pharbung, Laipong, Laipham Maring and Lamyangtombi along with their chiefs took part in the celebration which was marked by offering of prayers to Jesus Christ and volleyball match.
The Hermionedesignated camp of the KNO maintaining suspension of operation with the government forces, cadres of first battalion Kuki National Army (KNA) are housing together with that of United Minorities Liberation Army (UMLA) .
UCM presents gifts on Christmas On the Christmas day, United Committee Manipur (UCM) also presented a water reservoir and football each to the villagers of Chinglangmei and Haotak Bajang villages in Churachandpur district apart from UCM members celebrating the festival with the villagers.
UCM president, Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, speaking at the celebration functions, stressed the need for identifying politicians and vested interested persons who are trying to break the aged old peace and harmony between the hills and valley people.
The UCM also assured the villagers to extend help when they press the government for taking up developmental works in their respective villages.
