Health camps held, relief materials provided

In a bid to address the blood shortage issues amid the ongoing communal crisis in the State, the International Meetei Christian Youth Assembly on Wednesday launched a voluntary blood donation drive at JNIMS Hospital, Imphal.
5 persons donated their blood on the first day while 25 persons donated blood on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons, International Meetei Christian Youth Assembly ambassador Rohan Phillem stated that the mega blood donation camp will be carried out till November 17 to help the people who have been injured during the present crisis.
He also asserted that the Assembly is making preparations to donate blood in case of shortage of blood due to the outbreak of Dengue in the State.
"There are about 1,50,000 Meetei Christians including about 20,000 youths", said Rohan Phillem while adding that efforts have been to unite all the Meetei Christian youths to join the movement to protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Similarly, TIDDIM Motors Imphal, authorised dealer of TATA Motors Passenger Vehicle Ltd, in collaboration with Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, Imphal, on Tuesday organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp cum Awareness Campaign at RIMS, Imphal.
Staff of TIDDIM Motors Imphal under the supervision of proprietor Phillem Rajesh Singh donated blood during the camp.
Meanwhile, Romi Bag Industries and All Manipur Footwear & Leather Development Association have jointly distributed relief materials to the displaced people taking shelter at various relief camps.
The five days long relief material distribution drive was flagged off on Wednesday from the office of All Manipur Footwear & Leather Development Association in Tera Lukram Leirak.
At the event, All Manipur Footwear & Leather Development Association executive member Keisham Bobo shared that during the five days' drive, relief materials will be provided to the relief camps opened in the valley districts of Manipur.
