Health talk on Conjunctivitis & Chicken Pox held

Imphal, October 17 2023: In an initiative aimed at promoting health awareness, the Department of Community Medicie of Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS) organised a comprehensive health talk programme on Conjunctivitis and Chicken Pox on Tuesday at the premises of Thangjam Sangita, Awang Sekmai Anganwadi Centre in Imphal West.

The health talk, part of the compulsory rotatory medical internship posting for foreign medical graduates (2023 24), had active participation of nearly 35 local residents.

The interns, under the guidance of the department faculties, conducted an informative presentation enriched with visual aids and charts to elucidate the topics.

Following the presentation, participants had the opportunity to seek clarifications and have their doubts addressed.

This educational initiative was made possible through a collaboration with ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers of Sekmai Awang Leikai, showcasing a collective effort towards enhancing community health.

The programme commenced at 11 AM and ended at around 1.30 pm.

Local ASHA and Anganwadi workers expressed their eagerness for more such events to be held regularly within their community.
