INC leads with 48 seats; NPF follows in ADC

Imphal, June 10 2015 : Indian National Congress (INC) is leading bagging 48 seats in the six ADCs of the State, for which results have been declared so far.

Results were declared late in the evening as the votes were cast on ballot papers.

NPF has won 34 seats in the six ADCs while the BJP has secured 21 total seats, according to latest updates available from the State Election Commission.

Elections to the six ADCs of Chandel, Churachandpur, Sadar Hills, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul was held on June, 1 .

Repoll was held at 70 polling stations on June 6 .

A total of 507 candidates contested the election out of which 12 were declared elected uncontested.

There were a total of 191 Independent candidates, 121 BJP candidates.

98 INC candidates, 86 NPF candidates and 11 others in the poll fray.

Senapati: The Naga People's Front (NPF) has won as many as 11 seats out of a total of 24 seats in Senapati ADC.

It was a poor show for the Congress as it returned only one member (Koide seat) in the Senapati ADC.

The BJP won eight seats while four Independent candidates have also been declared elected.

CCpur: Ten Independent candidates have been declared elected in Churachandpur ADC till the time of filing this report.

Four INC candidates have won in Churachandpur ADC while a single seat was won by the BJP (Khousabung seat).

Counting is underway for the rest of the seats.

Sadar Hills: The counting of votes in respect of Sadar Hills ADC election held on June 1 ended peacefully at ADC/ DEO office here today.

Indian National Congress (INC) won 17 seats while the BJP won four seats.

NPF won two seats while one single seat was won by an Independent candidate.

Ukhrul : NPF won nine seats in Ukhrul while three Independent candidates have been declared elected.

So far, the INC is yet to open its account in Ukhrul ADC.

TAMENGLONG: INC won ten seats in Tamenglong ADC.

NPF won eight seats.

BJP won five seats while Independent won two seats.
