Consultation on socio religious for peace, harmony in Manipur held

One day consultation Programme on theme "Socio religious understanding for peace and harmony in Manipur" was held on Wednesday at Shalom Hall, MBC Centre Church, Chingmeirong.
The programme was orgainsed by All Manipur Christian Organisations (AMCO).
The programme was chaired by TCLF President Dr S Lalpi Vaiphei and AMCO Information and Publicity Secretary Rev Simon Raomei while invocation was shared Rev Dr N Nipamacha, Vice Chairman AMCO and Rev S Prim Vaiphei President AMCO.
General Secretary MBC Dr Wungnaoting Konghar; UCM President Elangbam Johnson; Naga Women Union Ex President Aram Pamei; AMUCO President Dr Y Mani; Love Manipur Chairman Rev L Timothy Phaomei; Kuki Innpi Manipur (KIM) President Thangkhosei and HERICOUN member Charamani Mutum attended as main speakers.
Speakers focused on the social issues which will bring peace and development in the State.
Speakers also further appealed to all the community leaders and civil society leaders to have unity among them for better future and restore peace again in the State.
The speakers alleged that the problems were created by the Government for failing in the Governance.
They suggested that frequently conducting of such programme will help to bring peace in the State and resolved to conduct the meeting in Senapati, Ukhrul and other parts of Manipur.
The meeting also expressed concern on the ongoing operation in the adjoining areas of Indo Myanmar border after the attack on 6 Dogra in Paralong, Chandel District.
They appealed GOC 57 Mt Division and Government of India to update the public on the situation of innocent people under "Friendly Operation" on regular basis and all media and civil society leaders to visit the affected people in the operation areas to assuage the psychological impacts of the military operation.
They urged to include lady police personnel in the operation to assuage the fears and apprehension of women and children and youth in those villages with immediate effect.
