Imphal, June 10 2015 :
Manipur Students Federation (MSF) has expressed displeasure over 'misuse' of school teachers in various Government Departments on Wednesday.
MSF in a release said Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education and Literary Director Vikram Sahay had on September 13, 2010 instructed Education Secretaries of all States and Union Territories that teachers should be engaged only in their job.
In this regard, as part of its academic campaign "Eikhoi Lairik Ningthina Tamshi," MSF and Education Minister M Okendro reached an agreement on February 26, 2014 wherein the minister assured to send back all teachers, who were being engaged in various Government Departments, to their respective schools, the student body said.
It said a large number of teachers are now in use at Directorate of Education (S), Zonal Educational Office (ZEO), Secretariat Education Office and ministers' offices.
Such a policy is in breach of the Right to Education Act 2009, apart from making vulnerable to the survival of the Government run schools, MSF said.
MSF also alleged that the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) without obtaining due consent of the Government has given recognition to some Higher Secondary Schools in a clandestine manner.
It informed the authorities of these Higher Secondary Schools to come forward and settle the matter with MSF.
