Academic discourse on "Fabricated history of Manipur" kicks off

The two-days academic discourse on "Fabricated history of Manipur" organised by Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) kicked off today at the Castle Hotel, Konung Mamang, Imphal.
The event began with the lighting of candles by KSA president Bidyanand and Impact TV editor-in-chief Yumnam Rupachandra.
Delivering the welcome address, Bidyanand said that the KSA with the assistance of the public has been conducting various activities to bring about an egalitarian society for students of the State.
Claiming that many pseudo intellectuals belonging to the Kuki community have been publishing misleading & fabricated contents/ books by misrepresenting the original history of Manipur, Bidyanand said, "The academic discourse was organised with the aim to stop such writings and academically fight/challenge the attempts made by such pseudo intellectuals".
He also asserted that an article written by a Kuki intellectual with spurious information about the history of Manipur was even published in Manorama Year Book 2024.Notably, the first day of the discourse was moderated by Yumnam Rupachandra.
Dr Md Raheijuddin Sheikh, Principal, Moirang College; RK Jackson, Guest Faculty, Department of Ancient History & Archaeology, Manipur University; Dr Arambam Noni, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, DM College of Arts, Dhanamanjuri University; and Sorokhaibam Nabachandra, Lecturer, Department of History, Waikhom Mani Girls' College took part in the programme as speakers.
