Ensure free and fair polling : INF

The Imphal Naga Forum has made an appeal to all to ensure free and fair elections in Manipur which will go to polls on April 19 and April 26 .
Violent and unstable environments will not be conducive to a peaceful, free and fair and transparent elections, it said in a statement.
It appealed to all the candidates, political parties, Church bodies, civil society organizations, voters and the all armed groups to exercise maximum restraints and refrain from violence during the time of election campaign.
The Church leaders must shout from the pulpits to his congregation to elect the most righteous, incorruptible, dedicated and the best candidates, it added.
Praying for people to not become prey to the lure of money, inducements and gifts from the candidates and political parties, the forum said, "Let our inner voices speak to us during the time of voting and make the right and truthful decision which will have a bearing on the younger generation.
"There is now fear psychosis in the minds of the electorate.
Let us all join together to create a congenial, peaceful and violence free environment where every responsible and law abiding denizen can exercise his/her political franchise without fear and intimidation," it said.
The forum also appealed to the Election Commission of India, as a Constitutional poll watchdog, to ensure peaceful and smooth polling where the people can be given the best opportunities to elect their representatives to the Parliament.
