He expressed his disappointment over the failure of the Government and authorities concerned to recover the bodies of the two students and hand them over to their families even after the arrest of some perpetrators.
He also lamented when the video of two Kuki women being paraded naked went viral, many groups, organisations and women folk belonging to the Meitei community came out and protested the tragic incident.
"However, when two innocent students were abducted, tortured and brutally killed, not a single group or women from the Kuki community raised their voice against the cold-blooded killers who are without any humanity.
Such collective silence is hard to digest and understand", said Thoiba while appealing to the Central and State Government to take all necessary actions against the perpetrators of the tragic murder and award befitting punishment as per the law.
Thoiba also conveyed his deep sorrow and condolence over the untimely demise of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) president Ima Longjam Memchoubi.
Denouncing the failure of the Government to recover the bodies of the two students, AMMIK general secretary Mayengbam Dhananjoy urged the authorities concerned to take immediate action to recover the bodies of the two students along with the other 22 missing persons and hand them over to their families so that they may conduct their last rites.
At the sit-in, the protestors displayed placards with the writings such as, "We condemn the killing of two innocent students", "We want justice", "Justice for Linthoingambi and Hemanjit" "Punish killers of innocent students'', etc.
