Kh Loken calls to refrain from infighting

Stating that infighting among the Meeteis amid the ongoing crisis will be delightful only to the common foe, MLA of Wangoi Constituency Khuraijam Loken has said that he won't hesitate to resign if the resignation of legislators is indispensable to protect the State's integrity.
Attending a public meeting held under the theme "Present ethnic crisis in Manipur" at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong today, Kh Loken said that no genuine Manipuris would want disintegration of the State where they were born and raised.
He continued that every community has a role to play to safeguard the unity and integrity of Manipur.

The MLA went on to state that many people have lost their loved ones in the course of the violence while thousands of people have been rendered homeless.
Saying that Manipur violence was portrayed as a religious conflict and subjugation of the minority by the majority initially, Kh Loken continued that a clear picture of how the violence broke out has started coming out to public domain today.
Continuing that the State Government has been working to restore normalcy in Manipur with the help of the Centre, the MLA claimed that the violence however has backtracked the developmental pace of the State by 30 to 40 years.
It will take time to end the ongoing crisis as Kukis had devised the plan to disintegrate for decades, he claimed and added that Meeteis need to to face the divisive agenda of Kukis after proper planning to save the State.
There won't be any development unless there is peace, Loken said and asked the people to give suggestions to end the conflict to the Government and the legislators.
Saying that infighting among the valley people needs to be stopped at once, Loken continued that only the common foe will be cheerful when 'we destroy each other's houses' .
Federation of Haomee president Sapamcha Jadumani and Chief Editor of Sanaleibak daily Hemanta Ningomba also attended the programme among others.
