Jiribam, October 07 2023: An inspection visit was carried out today to take stock of the living conditions and grievances of the inmates of the relief camp opened at the Sports complex in Bidyanagar in Jiribam district.

The inspection visit was carried out by a team led by SDC Jiribam Devananda under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner Jiribam Krishna Kumar.

It may be noted that displaced people from Chingoibung, Babukhal and Boroikhal have been taking shelter in the relief camp ever since the unfortunate violence erupted on May 3 .

Speaking at the occasion, Devananda said that the resettlement of the inmates of Bidyanagar sports complex is on hold at the moment due to security reasons.

The Jiribam DC had presented the desire expressed by the displaced to return to their original residences during the security meetings and the same had been discussed earlier.

He also maintained that measures will be taken up soon to conduct skill development programmes for the welfare of the inmates by identifying their innate talents and skills.

The SDC expressed joy to see the improvement among the inmates regarding their learning skills and accredited the same to the regular classes conducted under the supervision of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Jiribam at the relief camp.

He also expressed gratitude to all the supporters and relevant Government Departments for rendering their support for the smooth functioning and management of the relief camp.
