Imphal, October 07 2023:
Stating that students who have passed the compartmental/improvement examinations for Class X and XII are facing inconveniences trying to get admission to educational institutions, Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) has urged school authorities and all concerned to reserve seats for these students so as to ensure continuation of their education.
In a release, KSA publicity secretary Langoljam Rajesh appealed all to give up the concept of disdaining students who appear and pass improvement/compartmental examination but consider them as normal students.
While noting that many students fared excellently in different subjects in the improvement/compartmental examination and had successful careers, the secretary pointed out that instances of ignoring efforts of students who appear in improvement/ compartmental exams and denying them the opportunity to get admission in educational institutions of their choice contradict the very principle of universal education.
The secretary also contended such students are made to suffer as authority concerned failed to conduct and declare improvement/compartmental examination in time.
The inconveniences faced by the students could be prevented if the government translates into action KSA's proposal to conduct and declare result of compartmental exam within a short span after completion of process of regular exam.
Regarding its demand for exemption of additional school fee charged from students in view of the present unrest situation in the state, he urged school authorities to make a clear statement to the public about the months to be exempted.
