Kalachand Shastri award distributed

Imphal, October 17 2023: The Kalachand Shastri Memorial Award - 2023 instituted by Johnstone Higher Secondary School 1964 Matric Batch Welfare Association was distributed to meritorious students of the school in a function held at the school, here, on Tuesday.

According to a release, the award has been handed over to students of Johnstone Higher Secondary School who scored the highest marks in the class XII examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur in science, arts and commerce streams.

The Memorial Award for science, arts and commerce streams were presented to Nongmaithem Ajitkumar Meitei, Ayekpam Thoujalba Meitei and Waikhom Gunson Singh respectively.

The award consists of cash prize of Rs 3000 and certificate each.

On the occasion, Guru-mayum Niranjan Sharma Meritorious Cash Award was also conferred on Ayekpam Thoujalba Meitei.

and Lisham Premchand Singh Memorial Cash Award donated by Leis-hangthem Ksheroda Devi in the name of her late husband was presented to Nongmaithem Ajitkumar Meitei for securing highest mark in science stream.

Lisham Premchand appeared his class XII examination from the school in 1989.The function also witnessed distribution of prizes to the students who secured highest marks in different subjects, in addition to honouring the students who secured highest marks in class XI examination, the release added.
