As a part of the programme to prevent spreading of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in the State, MLA RK Anand today distributed 500 medicated mosquito nets at his Assembly Constituency, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa under the sponsorship of the State Malaria Department under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme.
More number of individuals turned up then the allotted number of bed nets at the distribution programme.
The MLA sensing the demands of the people said that the works on insecticide treatment of bed nets and smog fogging in his constituency will be completed in a week time.
RK Anand further said that to fight the menance of JE, the efforts of Government alone is not enough.
We need close cooperation between NGOs, associations, clubs, private bodies, etc.
The participation of general public is essential.
Participating in the distribution programme, State Malaria Oficer, H Nimaichand said that each MLA is allotted with 500 bed nets only.
It is most important to take up preventive measures and not to get one bitten by mosquitoes.
