Imphal, July 18 2010:
Following spread of Japanese Encephalitis in various parts of the State, various social bodies are taking up different remedial measures to control the spread of the disease.
Wangkhei Kendra Development Committee Forum in association with the committees of Khurai Thoudam Leikai and Khurai Thangjam Leikai sprayed anti-mosquito chemicals in these two localities.
Sega Road Welfare Club in collaboration with State Malaria Department also organised a bed net treatment programme at the community hall of the club.
Around 247 bed nets were treated with anti-mosquito chemical in the programme, said a press release.
Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal East District Branch in association with local clubs organised camps on Insecticide Treated Bed Net (ITBN) at Kongba Uchekon Mathak Leikai and Uchekon Khunou today.
Around 550 bed nets were treated with insecticide in the two programmes, said a press release.
