Imphal, December 26 2010:
Labour and Employment Minister Ph Parijat today said in the 85th foundation day of the Communist Party of India (CPI) that the CPI stands for the poor and the workers.
The foundation day was observed at Kongba Uchekon Lai Moriba Shanglen, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Parijat said that the party will strive for the the rights and welfare of the workers and poor people.
He also talk about the life of Hijam Irabot who ushered in the ideology of communism in the state.
In a speech, Dr S Naba said that the CPI is not a party interested only in elections.
It has continuously fought for the rights of the deprived.
According to him many countries who adopt communism are advancing in the race for development in today's world.
State Secretary, CPI State Council, Langol Iboyaima, Control Commission Chairman, Moirangthem Ibohal, State Secretariat member BB Sharma and Secretary, CPI Thongju Local Council also attended the function as presidium members.
Moirangthem Ibohal hoisted the flag of the party at the inauguration.
Cultural programmes too marked the function.
CPI, Patsoi Local Council observed the day at the residence of Khuraijam Romesh of Tera Sapam Leirak, Imphal today.
Pebam Angou, Thounaojam Chandramohon and Ahanthem Biramangol were the presidium members in the function.
Leishangthem Thoirel, Secretariat Member, CPI State Council talked about the works of the party.
