Cultural show at JNV Chandel depicts diversity of 15 communities

Kakching, October 08 2023: Overcoming ethnic barriers, students from 15 different communities of Manipur participated in a cultural show cum interaction programme at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chandel under the theme "Unity in Diversity" yesterday.

The programme was held at the hall of JNV Chandel which is located at Liwa Khullel Sarei, Chandel with the participation of many students from the Meitei, Tangkhul, Mongsang, Chothe, Anal, Aimol, Lamkang, Maring, Kabui, Pangal and Kuki communities among others.

Speaking in this connection, Dr Amarson Sankhil, Principal, JNV Chandel stated that the programme was organised with the objective of spreading the message of unity and equality beyond ethnic lines to the rest of the strife-torn State.

Saying that students at JNV Chandel continue to receive education with no distinction being made on their ethnic background, he expressed hope that the cultural programme may act as a harbinger of peace in the State.

He also made an earnest appeal to exempt the education sector from the ongoing conflict and allow students to attend their classes unhindered.

Further, he urged the State Government to restore normalcy in Manipur at the earliest.

Notably, M Rajkumar, DC Chandel; Hemant Pandey, SP Chandel and school staff were also present at the event.

The students presented numerous cultural shows of their respective communities following which Chandel DC M Rajkumar interacted with the students as part of an interaction programme.
