Bishnupur, June 27 2023:
United Protection Committee, Nambol has strongly condemned the alleged attempt by the Government of India to attack the united structure of Manipur while using narco-terrorists as a weapon.
Under the guise of containing the turmoil, the design of the Central Government to divide responsibilities for the hills and the valley to the Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister respectively is akin to giving in to the demand of the Kukis for a separate administration, a statement issued by the Committee has said.
Stating that UPC Nambol does not give much weight to the question of removing the Chief Minister from his office, it stressed on the main appeal of the UPC, which is, for the remaining fifty MLAs to unite and stand firmly to uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Further, UPC urged the Central Government to revoke their arrangement to assign responsibilities for the hills and valley to the Centre and State and "stop using the AR, Indian Army and CAPF as tools to carry out a one-sided genocide".
It also strongly objected to the introduction of a separate administration in Manipur.
UPC also called the State Government's alleged move of assigning blame to the public when it failed to contain the violence in the initial stage of the conflict as completely 'wrong' .
Thus UPC urged the State Government and the public to unite and save Manipur from the mayhem caused by narco-terrorists.
