Blood donated; essential items, cash aid distributed

Imphal, June 27 2023:
People's Resource Development Association (PRDA) Bishnupur, Bishnupur District Hospital, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Bishnupur district branch and Green Universal Foundation (GUF) in collaboration with JNIMS Blood Centre organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the hospital on Monday.
During the camp organised under the theme "Peace & Co-existence", besides other donors, Indian Red Cross Society Bishnupur district branch secretary Dr Huidrom Romen and joint secretary Huidrom Shyamchand donated blood for the 49th time each.
Apunba Keithel Sinnaibi Lup, Kangleipak (AKSIL), Life Savers Manipur (LISAM) and Sports Association for the Visually Impaired in association with RIMS Hospital Department of Transfusion Medicine, State Blood Cell-NHM Manipur, SBTC Manipur and HDFC Bank, Imphal also organised blood donation camp at RIMS hospital on Tuesday in connection with the 143rd birthday celebration of Hel en Keller under the theme "Kangleipak Imagidamak Kat Thoklaba ee" .
Speaking on the side-lines, AKSIL secretary Konthoujam Prabha Devi informed that the camp was conducted to maintain adequate stock of blood and help those injured in on-going ethnic violence.
More than 20 women including executive members of AKSIL and others donated blood, she added.
Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) along with Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal under the technical supervision and support by Shija Hospitals and Research Institute also organised a blood donation camp at MMTA Yaipha Shanglen, Minuthong premises, here, on Tuesday.
Along with 20 MMTA volunteers, Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal secretary Dr Bankimchandra Thokchom donated blood for the 46th time at the camp.
Meanwhile, doctors, staff and management of Babina Diagnostic on Tuesday extended relief materials including food items, drinking water, sanitary pads, medicines, mosquito nets, toys and others to the relief camps opened at Urup Higher Secondary School, Imphal East district; District Sports Complex, Wangjing, Thoubal district; and Kakching Panjao Pallum, Kakching district.
The management commit -tee of Chandani Memorial School (CMS), Andro along with staff members and well-wishers also extended financial materials and distributed relief items to the relief camp at Life School, Kakching on Tuesday as Nongpok Chingu Thong Meitei Leikon Thalo Sipi Lok Selloi Laim-ai Ching, Imphal Nongpok Panthou provided monetary assistance of Rs 50,000 to Nongpok Pana Apunba Lup (NONGPAL) on Tuesday for its contributions towards the society In Bishnupur district, a team of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya, Laingoubi led by its headmaster in-charge Loitong-bam Surjit distributed study materials to students staying in relief camps set up in Kumbi assembly constituency including Wangoo Higher Secondary School, Kumbi Awang Khunou and Ithai Khunou On Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a farewell programme was organised for inmates of Nachou Government Junior High School relief camp on Wednesday during which they were presented with gifts.
Speaking on the occasion, Nachou Youth Relief Camp convener Laishram Premjit Singh informed that the camp was set up on May 6 for people displaced from Churachand-pur district.
He also lauded the government's initiative to shift the remaining displaced persons to the relief camp at Old Mini Secretariat Complex, Lou-koipat.
On the other hand, a medical team led by Dr Biraman-gol under the aegis of chief medical officer Bishnupur Dr L Raichandra organised a free health check-up camp at Old Mini Secretariat Com lex, Loukoipat run by Apun-a Tengbang Lup Bishnupur under the aegis of district administration, Bishnupur on Wednesday.
