Imphal, December 29 2023: Denouncing the deployment of BSF at IT1 Complex Lilong, Arapti Maning Leikai Youth Development Association, Lilong Arapti submitted memorandums to Thoubal DC, SP, and DIG for withdrawal of the BSF claiming that deployment of the central force is irrational.

In a release, Arapti Maning Leikai Youth Development Association president Yumkhaibam Bimol Meitei contended that deployment of para-military forces in valley areas citing election is illogical as the Election Committee of India is yet to issue any notification.

The deployment is creating confusion among the people residing in the valley.

Instead, central forces should be in areas where there is conflict such as Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and along the Imphal-Jiribam road to ensure safe passage in the area.

Moreover, preparation for conducting election prior to ending the conflict is absurd, he asserted, while demanding that priority be given towards restoration of peace and normalcy in the state.
