Imphal, September 11 2023: Iroisemba Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Iroisemba Youth Development Club have begun shutdown of Central government departments and intitutions in pursuance of the public demand for removal of Assam Rifles from the state.

On the first day of the agitation on Monday, Meira Paibis and youth of Iroisemba sealed the main gate of College of Agriculture of the Central Agricultural University, Imphal.

Regarding the agitation, Youth Development Club secretary Laimayum Pishu Sharma told media persons that both the state and central governments are intentionally keeping blind eye to the series of attacks carried out by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists on Meetei community since May 3.Instead of putting an end to the ongoing war, more Central forces are being deployed in Manipur while Assam Rifles openly supports Chin-Kuki-narco-terrorists and fires towards innocent Meetei people.

Unable to bear with excessive action of Assam Rifles, people o'f the state have been demanding removal of Assam Rifles, Pishu Sharma reasoned, adding that the agitation launched on Monday will continue till the removal of Assam Rifles.
