Imphal, October 08 2023:
It is completely unreasonable to replace the chief minister amid the pre vailing situation in the state, Village Volunteers Service Khundrakpam AC convenor Nongthombam Bobbi has stated.
On Sunday, Village Volunteers Service Khundrakpam AC offered tributes to all those who have lost lives in the on-going conflict, at Pukhri Laipham community hall.
The ritual was attended by members of the Volunteers Service, ICHAM ex-president N Rajendro, AMUCO president Nando Luwang and others.
During the solemn function, the tarpan for four volunteers from Khundrakpam AC who were killed in the conflict were also offered, followed by observance of a two-minute silence by members of Arambai Tenggol.
Speaking on the occasion, N Bobbi assert -ed that the Kuki narco-terrorists started the conflict because the government campaigned against poppy cultivation, illegal forest encroachments and supported the public demand for NRC implementation.
During the conflict, many houses have been razed to the ground, thousands displaced and many killed while defending their own villages.
He then urged both the central and state governments to take up concrete steps for resolving the over five-month long conflict.
People will extend all support in this regard.
However, the suggestion to replace the leadership amidst the prevailing conflict is not reasonable.
It is simply an attempt to impose President's Rule in the state.
This is not the time to turn against each other, he reasoned.
