State lads win in Chess tourneys

Imphal, March 29, 2014:
Yambem Dhanabir Singh, who represented Manipur in the 1st RGS International Rating Chess Tournament 2014 held at Guwahati, Assam from 23rd to 28th March, 2014 won the championship title by securing 9 points from the 10 rounds of games played.
The tournament was organized jointly by Assam Chess Club and Guwahati Chess Association.
In another tournament, Koireng Leitanthem, who also represented Manipur secured 2nd position by scoring 8.5 points out of 10 rounds in the Chess Specific Fide Rated Chess Tournament 2014, organized by Grand Master Chess Academy at New Delhi today.
