N Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : Md Aqeel all round performance guides RCA to 203 run quarter final victory over ESU

The semi-final line up of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys' Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2021-22 was completed today with RCA, Lilong thrashing ESU by 203 runs in the last quarter final match of the tourney here at Heinoupok playground.
RCA chose to bat first and amassed a huge total of 241 runs for 9 in allotted 30 overs courtesy Md Aqeel half century and skittled ESU out for a meagre total of 38 runs within 12.3 overs as Md Aqeel ran through their batting line up on the way to his 5 wicket haul in 6 overs.

Even as RCA lost openers on paltry scores, Zamir Khan (37 off 28 balls), Md Sharif (20 off 21 balls), Md Rufaat (31 off 25) set the momentum before Md Aqeel took on ESU bowlers to hit 4 fours and 5 sixes to post a 36 ball 56 .
Md Sohail Khan (26) and Md Akip Hussain (24 not out) also made significant contributions to RCA's tally.
Ahongsangbam Jenash was the pick of ESU bowlers today as he finished with 3 wicket haul for 56 runs in his spell of 5 overs while Soibam Jenit Singh (2/43 in 6 overs) and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (2/40 in 6 overs) claimed two wickets each.
Ironically, none of the ESU batters scored double digit scores as Aqeel bowled out opener Sandham Abhinash and Gurumayum Reckson on ducks, Sagolshem Ronal on 4, Ahongsangbam Jenash on 3 and trapped H Naoba lbw on 5 to return with the best bowling figure 5/7 in 6 overs which contained 3 maidens.
Naesh Hussain of RCA also shone with the bowl as he scalped thrice for 10 runs in 2.3 overs while his compatriots, Md Sohail Khan and Md Danish Khan shared a wicket apiece to restrict ESU to 38 runs for 10 in 12.3 overs.
Eventually, Md Aqeel of the Lilong side was named man of the match.
