Ronibala picks four as THAU-A win inaugural MNCA Women's One Day Trophy title

Ronibala Chanu Thokchom enjoyed a four wicket haul before Seterny Devi Brahmacharimayum and Kalpana Devi Keisham hit half centuries to guide THAU-A to a 10 wicket win against PTRC, Patsoi in the final showdown of the 1st MNCA Women's One Day Trophy here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
PTRC, Patsoi won the toss and opted to bat first.
With Ranjita Devi Koijam leading from the front, PTRC got off to a promising start before Ronibala Chanu of THAU-A, Thangmeiband got the breakthrough by removing her opening partner Kiranbala Palujam on 9 when the scoreboard read 59 in 13.2 overs.

THAU's right arm off break bowler, Milan Chanu Yambem then removed Binomala Chanu who came in after Kiranbala's dismissal on 1 in the 15th over before medium pacer Kiranbala Chanu scalped RK Lingthoingambi Chanu on 6 and Bidyarani on duck in the 19th over to reduce PTRC to 86-4 in 18.3 overs.
Despite the huge pressure, Ranjita anchored well but her partners on the other end of the crease kept departing either on duck or on fewer runs.
PTRC were 122 for 7 in 27.2 overs when they lost Ranjita who managed the highest knock of 90-ball 73 (12 fours and 1 six) to star of the day Ronibala Chanu.
Ronibala also trapped Manimacha Devi lbw for a duck the very next ball to complete her four wicket haul and set up Tolika Laitonjam run out to wrap up the PTRC innings within 31.4 overs for 133 runs.
Eventually, Ronibala Chanu returned with the best bowling figure 4/30 in 6.4 overs which contain two maidens while Kiranbala Chanu (2/32 in 5 overs) and Milan Chanu Yambem (2/23 in 6 overs which contain 1 maiden) bagged two wickets apiece.
Waikhom Ganga also picked a wicket (1/22 in 7 overs which contain 3 maidens) to help THAU-A apply a break in the PTRC's innings.
Seterny Devi Brahmacharimayum (56 off 72 balls; 7 fours and 1 six) and Kalpana Devi Keisham (66 off 72 balls; 11 fours and 1 six) then punished PTRC bowlers to set a record 122 run partnership for the first wicket and helped THAU-A post a winning 139 within 23.3 overs.
Only Ranjita Devi produced a commendable bowling performance for the Patsoi team in this innings as she leaked only 18 runs in his spell of 7 overs which contained two maidens.
Subsequently, Thokchom Ronibala Chanu was adjudged the woman of the final match.
Winners, THAU-A walked away with the title trophy and a cash prize of Rs 30,000 while runners up, PTRC settled for a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a trophy. Woman of the series, RK Lingthoingambi of PTRC (306 runs and 6 wickets in 5 innings); highest run scorer, Brahmacharimayum Seterny Devi of THAU-A (400 runs in 5 innings), highest wicket taker, Thoudam Mangalsana of PTCC (12 wickets in 4 innings); woman of the final match, Th Ronibala and emerging player, Priyanshee Hanglem of THAU-B (8 wickets in 4 innings) were also feted with trophies.
