Imphal, February 15 2022:
SYMROPIA FC (Churachandpur) and KRFC (Sagang) won their matches with relative ease as Muvanlai Athletics (Kangpokpi) and KYVO (Kwasiphai) settled for a 1-1 draw in the 63rd CC Meet on Tuesday.
SYMROPIA FC started the day with a 6-2 drubbing of FC Lamjao (Kakching) in a Group D match.
A defensive error by FC Lamjao gave SYMROPIA an early lead when Bisonath's attempted clearance in the 5th minute went into his own net.
But the Kakching side responded strongly and overturned the scoreline after Yaifaba drew level in the 11th minute and Priyo's strike in the 32nd put FC Lamjao 2-1 up.
SYMROPIA, however, clawed their way back into the game with a first-half injury-time leveller from Siamminthang and thereafter they never looked back.
The Churachandpur side were in complete control of the second half with their attacking prowess on full display.
They kick-started their second-period barrage with a 66th-minute strike from C Paoginmuan as K Lalchhuansanga upped the scoring ante in the 72nd minute.
SYMROPIA continued their scoring spree with Helsuanpao on target in the 80th minute before Khupmilun closed out the game, firing in their sixth goal in the 89th minute.
In a Group E encounter, Muvanlai Athletics were denied a win after they conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 with KYVO.
After a barren first half, Muvanlai broke the deadlock in the 75th minute courtesy of Haotinsem and they looked set to secure a narrow victory until a foul inside the box cost them all three points.
KYVO were awarded a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
Maheshchand stepped up and scored from the spot that ultimately snatched a 1-1 draw against Muvanlai.
KRFC, meanwhile, handed a 5-1 thrashing to LYCC (Chandel) in another Group E meeting.
Y Dayananda put KRFC ahead in the 13th minute but LYCC restored parity in a two-minute span with Sk Bunghong on target.
Dyananda scored his second goal in the 17th minute to regain KRFC's lead before L Paul Kom made it 3-1 before the halftime whistle.
After the break, the Sangang side continued their momentum with Singte George collecting their fourth goal in the 83rd minute as M Ishaiya rounded off the scoring in the 88th minute.
